William G. Essig

Will Essig is the director of Litigation Services of Andersen & Company LLP. Throughout his more than 30 years as an accountant, he has consulted with litigators and provided expert testimony in both federal and state courts on a broad range of issues. His participation has proven invaluable in such contentious issues as economic damages, business acquisitions and valuations, actions against professionals, solvency, and fraudulent conveyance.

Will also provides consultation on a variety of family law issues in California State Superior Courts and has facilitated settlements relating to temporary and permanent support and division of the marital assets and liabilities. This work has involved the discovery of facts, analyses of business records and testimony, and the summarization of these facts and analyses into meaningful information for a broad range of cases.

Will graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in business administration and is licensed as a certified public accountant in California. He served four years as a member of the California State Board of Accountancy Qualifications Committee and also served on the California Society of Certified Public Accountant's (CalCPA) state and San Francisco chapter committees on accounting principles and auditing standards. He is currently an active member of the Economic Damages Section of CalCPA's Litigation Section and a frequent presenter at continuing education programs for accountants and attorneys.
