Richard J. Pratt of Andersen & Company LLP Earns the AICPA's Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) Credential
SANTA ROSA, Calif., October 4, 2007 – Andersen & Company LLP, a leading provider of business consulting and accounting services in the Bay Area, is pleased to announce that Richard J. Pratt has been awarded the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) credential by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Pratt, a practicing CPA in Sonoma County since 1969, provides strategic tax, accounting and auditing, and business advisory services for all entity types and individuals. Industries of expertise include construction, wholesaling and manufacturing.
The PFS credential, established by the AICPA in 1987, recognizes CPAs with substantial professional expertise and experience in financial planning. Requirements include passing a technical exam covering personal financial planning topics. In addition, candidates must have completed more than 1,400 hours of related business experience during the past five years and 75 hours of life-long learning activities. All PFS candidates must also hold a valid CPA certificate and be an AICPA member in good standing.
Pratt is a member of the California Society of CPAs and a past member of its Board of Directors. He is also a past member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and the Redwood Empire Estate Planning Council. He is a graduate of Leadership Santa Rosa VI and active in the Rotary Club of West Santa Rosa. Pratt earned a BA from University of California, Berkeley.
